TWO ADVANTAGES FOR THE PATIENT:
• AESTHETICALLY: the results must correspond to your expectations or even exceed them.
• FUNCTIONALLY: mastication should be improved and be in harmony with the implicit and explicit needs of the patient. The improvement and maintenance of oral-dental health is among our orthodontic objectives. Our system of quality management allows us to utilize efficient processes for your orthodontic treatment. And our policy of obligatory ongoing training for all team members ensures the mastery of innovative techniques and professional skills.
Three reasons for orthodontics:
❶ the aesthetic advantage: improve your smile, your quality of life and your “self-confidence”, at any time of life (from 7 to 77 years).
❷ functional advantages: improve the quality of mastication.
❸ benefits for oral-dental health: increase the life of your teeth (prevent dental loss).
❶ Aligned teeth contribute to a beautiful smile that produces a positive and attractive impression. A person with a ready smile has more success in private and professional life. A beautiful smile and harmonious face eases contact and interaction with others and enhances your social life. We are often judged on the way we look - our smile, our attractiveness, and the way we dress.
❷ You have symptoms of dental malposition that cause you maxillary shifts, poor engagement of dental arches, dental overlaps, rotations etc.
Correcting these dysfunctions will enable you to chew better, gain greater enjoyment in eating, avoid dental complications, and at the same time improve the aesthetic balance of your face and smile.
❸ Orthodontic treatment improves your oral and dental health as well as your appearance. Enhanced oral and dental health are convincing reasons for orthodontic treatment as these have a great impact on a person’s overall health, well being and quality of life. Well-aligned teeth are easier to clean and maintain. In the long term, orthodontic correction helps to prevent dental caries, gum disease and even tooth loss. Whatever the reason for beginning treatment, our philosophy is for you to enjoy a unique and positive experience, with lifelong benefits.
FIRST VISIT
We are always excited about meeting new patients during their first visit to our office. Your initial appointment will consist of a thorough examination and a discussion of potential treatment options. This important 20 minute consultation will give us insight into your orthodontic needs. During the initial examination we will address the following questions that cover the basics of orthodontic treatment. We encourage you to ask questions as well.
- Is there a condition that orthodontics can address?
- Is treatment needed now or should treatment be delayed until appropriate growth, tooth eruption or other factors have occurred?
- What treatment procedures will be used to correct the problem?
- How long will treatment take?
- How much will it cost?
- What are my payment options?
While we can often answer these general questions about treatment during the initial examination, we will address specific areas after careful analysis of the diagnostic records. This is normally done during a second visit to our office. This appointment will include; radiographs, photograghs, and impressions for study models. This is necessary for determining an appropriate treatment plan. This additional appointment will last approximately one hour. We will then schedule a case presentation visit to discuss treatment options, time frames, and financial arrangements. We insist that our patients leave the office with a clear understanding of their specific needs, what the treatment will consist of and how long it will take.
STEPS
First screening: It establishes personal needs and individual expectations. After a thorough analysis of various types of X-rays, clay impressions, and diagnostic photos, the orthodontist will evaluate the teeth, gums, and state of jaw, while also checking the natural biological process of teeth movement--an essential factor in improving oral health. As a result, an excellent diagnostic and personalized treatment plan can be established in accord with one’s dentist and oral surgeon.
Monthly examinations and braces activation: Check-ups and modifications are scheduled around a four weeks interval for a specific period of time, which is determined at diagnosis. There is also a yearly check-up that is made to examine results and re-confirm the time frame of the treatment.
Closing stages and results: The required contention could be a fixed retainer, a transparent mouth guard, or a Harley contention plate, which will guarantee the permanence of the result.
